In March of 2008, Ms Erin Benjamin assumed the position of Executive Director at CAPACOA. She joined the association after eight years as the first-ever Executive Director at the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals (OCFF) which followed a decade-long career as a touring singer/songwriter. She brings a strong vision for the presenting and touring sector that focuses on relationship building, networking, out-reach and strategic advocacy. She is deeply committed, via the mission and mandate of CAPACOA, to helping to support and inspire current and future generations of presenters and arts leaders across the country.
Ms Benjamin grew up in Toronto, attended Concordia University in Montreal where she graduated with a Fine Arts degree (theatre), and has made Ottawa her home since 2003. She has served on a variety of non-profit Boards including Folk Alliance International, the Songwriters Association of Canada and MFM (Music and Film In Motion, in Sudbury). She lives in a vibrant downtown Ottawa neighbourhood with her partner Richard, their son Oliver and daughter Toby.
