May 15, 2015 – CAPACOA's Executive Director, Sue Urquhart, was awarded the "Industry Person of the Year Award" by Music Prince Edward Island.

Sue Urqhuart showing her awardThe award was presented to Sue on May 14, during the Credit Union May Run Music Festival, in recognition for for all the work she has done in the arts in Prince Edward Island for the past 20 years. Sue was the first Executive Director of both the Atlantic Presenters Association, the regional presenting network of Atlantic Canada, and the Indian River Festival, a highly successful classical music festival in rural Prince Edward Island. Most recently Sue was the Director of Programming for PEI 2014, the organization responsible for the planning, promotion and implementation of the sesquicentennial celebrations for that province. Sue also served on the board of directors of CAPACOA, Music PEI and the East Coast Music Awards.

"I am humbled to be recognized for the small contribution I made to such a vibrant and passionate music community on Prince Edward Island," declared Sue as she accepted the award.

Congratulations to Sue on this first (and surely not the last) award the she is bestowed while at the helm of CAPACOA!
