The Canadian Classical Music Coalition (CCMC)

Meet the people spearheading the new Canadian Classical Music Coalition and add your voice to the dialogue to strengthen classical music in Canada. Hosts - Barbara Scales, George Zukerman, Robert Missen and Rick Gambrel.

The Succession Plan (TSP)

This is an opportunity for The Succession Plan participants, mentors and members of the CAPACOA community to talk about the program and how we can better serve this tier of the performing arts sector. We want to learn about how we can help foster relationships between emerging and established arts professionals, what needs exist for professional development, how we can communicate most effectively as a network and continue to grow together. Host - Erin Barnhardt

Circus Arts

In November 2009, the Canada Council for the Arts, through its Inter-Arts Office, recognized contemporary circus art as a distinct art form and defined it as 'a form of artistic expression that integrates the mastery of one or more circus techniques in an original and innovative artistic concept'. This session will explore issues and opportunities in the presentation of contemporary circus arts in Canada. The session will include representatives from the circus arts community and will be moderated by Canada Council Inter-Arts Office coordinator Claude Schryer.

Venue Managers

CAPACOA is considering expanding its program content to offer venue specific programming in future conferences. For some time Canadian venue managers have lamented the lack of a venue manager’s conference with a Canadian focus. What we are suggesting is creating a “page within the program” for venue managers. We are very interested in feedback from the membership about this. This network forum will focus on discussing what sort of programming ideas would be appreciated by venue managers at the 2011 conference. Host - Lloyd Fitzsimonds
