Keynote Address: The Physics of Innovation

Saturday November 5, 2011

Time: 9:45 am - 11:00 am

Location: Windsor Ballroom, Le Méridien King Edward Hotel

Panelist: Dr. Richard Epp

The Physics of Innovation with Dr. Richard Epp, Manager of Scientific Outreach - Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo.

Akin to the curatorial work of arts presenters, scientists use a powerful combination of creativity and reasoning—and worldwide collaborative networks, to discover how the universe works. Through communication and outreach, these potent ideas can change the way people see the world, inspiring and empowering them to innovate.  The Physics of Innovation is a celebration of the power of the human mind to transform the world.

Join the Q + A following Dr. Epp’s address where we will explore similarities between the arts and sciences, the value of the arts for scientists, and how best practices in theoretical physics research at Perimeter Institute and around the world can inform and inspire the arts community.
