Highlights from the 2014 AGM

October 8, 2014 - CAPACOA held its Annual General Meeting via web conferencing today. Four new members were elected to the Board of Directors and Erin Benjamin presented her ultimate Executive Director report.

CAPACOA members were pleased to elect four new members to the Board of Directors: Chris Dearlove (General Manager, Scenes Festivals at the National Arts Centre), Michele Emslie (Community Programming, Director Yukon Arts Centre; Coordinator, Northern Presenting Network), Laurie Gillis (Executive Director, Atlantic Presenters Association) et Lulu Healy (Artistic Director, Halifax Jazz Festival; Chair, Jazz Festivals Canada).

During the AGM, Erin Benjamin presented her last annual report as CAPACOA's Executive Director. She highlighted key results from the 2013-2014 fiscal year, such as:

  • the release of The Value of Presenting study, and the 22 presentations and workshops that ensued;
  • the enhancement of The Succession Plan with a mentor training program;
  • the delivery of the Presenters Capacity Building Program; and,
  • outstanding advocacy efforts including the Arts 308 campaign and the negotiations with Re:Sound.

CAPACOA President Paul Gravett thanked Erin wholeheartedly for her six years of service at CAPACOA. His words were echoed by thunderous virtual applause and more words of thanks in the chat room.
