A Renewed Board at CAPACOA's AGM

November 6, 2013 - CAPACOA held its Annual General Meeting using Adobe Connect web conferencing technology. A new president and four new members were elected to the Board of Directors.

Paul Gravett, from Paul Gravett Consulting, was elected President. He succeeds to Phyllis Stenson, who was retiring from the position of President after the completion of her two years' term. All board members, staff and general members of CAPACOA owe Phyllis an enormous debt of gratitude for her tireless work on behalf of the association as President, as public voice and advocate for all members and for the arts presenting community, as a facilitator and leader, and as a champion for artists and audiences across the country.

Four new members also joined the Board. Robert L. Kerr (Fort York National Historic Site), Stefania Paterak (The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall), David Pay (Music on Main) and Josée Vaillancourt (Scène Francophone and Réseau Ontario) were elected for a first term to the Board of Directors and two other directors were reelected for successive terms.

During the AGM, Executive Director Erin Benjamin presented CAPACOA's annual report. A motion was also adopted to amend the corporation's bylaws in conformity with the new Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act.
