Webinar on the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act

November 18, 2013 - Orchestras Canada — along with a number of peer performing arts service organizations — is partnering with Community Legal Education Ontario and the Ontario Nonprofit Network to present a free, introductory 30-minute webinar on getting ready for the Ontario Not for Profit Corporations Act (ONCA).

The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, November 27 at 1:00 p.m., and it’s designed specifically for Ontario performing arts organizations. CLEO project manager Brenda Doner will provide a fast-paced, 101-level introduction for Ontario arts organizations about the new act, highlighting
• important differences between the old and new legislation;
• the implications for your bylaws and articles of incorporation; members and voting; and boards of directors;
• the specific requirements for public benefit corporations;
• financial reporting requirements: audits vs. financial review engagements; and
• the things your organization should be doing now to prepare for the new act
