A Value of Presenting Encore

February 4, 2014 - Several presentations and workshops based on The Value of Presenting will be held over the next two months in Canada and in the United States.

On Feb 12-13 in Boston, the Northeastern University’s College of Arts, Media and Design is hosting a symposium entitled The Value of Presenting: Arts Data & Research in North America. Frédéric Julien, Project Manager at CAPACOA, and Inga Petri, lead researcher for the study, will be leading or participating in several sessions, providing a Canadian perspective on quantitative and qualitative research.

Moreover, thanks to financial support from Canadian Heritage and to the capacity of our sector to quickly seize opportunities, CAPACOA will also coordinate an exhaustive tour of presentations and workshops in Manitoba, Ontario and the Atlantic Provinces:

  • London, ON – February 26
Presentation and workshop hosted by the London Arts Council, in partnership with Palace Theatre, The London Fringe Festival Theatre, The Grand Theatre, CCI-Ontario Presenting Network and The City of London.
  • Portage La Prairie, MB – March 25
Presentation and workshop hosted by the Manitoba Arts Network, in partnership with the Manitoba Arts Council.

These activities will be yet further opportunities to reflect on the value of performing arts presentation, and to discuss the implications of the study on marketing, audience engagement, and community leadership.

Finally, on April 25 in Haliburton, Inga Petri will deliver the opening keynote at the Symposium for the Performing Arts in Rural Communities. This keynote will highlight data from The Value of Presenting as it relates to rural communities.
