About GAMI/Simonds Immigration Service
GAMI/Simonds, LLC is a full service management and booking agency based in Morris, CT, USA with a western office located in Portland, OR. Directors Laurelle Favreau and Don Verdery have each been passionately working in arts management for over three decades. In 1991, they merged their respective companies (Verdery’s Simonds Management of Morris, CT, and Favreau’s General Arts Management, Inc (GAMI) of Toronto, Ontario) to form GAMI/Simonds, LLC. The GAMI/Simonds roster represents an internationally acclaimed list of artists in the classical, jazz, contemporary, folk and world music genres.
Don took on his first foreign artists in the mid and late 80’s (Paco Peña, Milladoiro, Inti-Illimani) and thus began his continuing experience with the labyrinth of visas and taxes for foreign artists performing in the USA. In 1994, after pleas from Québécois colleagues, GAMI/Simonds began offering visa and tax services to the arts community in general: foreign artists, authors and United States concert presenters. GAMI/Simonds has provided, and continues to provide, these services to over 100 clients from all continents.
The GAMI/Simonds visa service includes the filing of O or P Petitions and related Support Petitions (O-2, P-1S, P-3S) to the appropriate labor unions and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and consultation on the Consulate procedure if applicable. The tax service includes consultations to artists and presenters regarding their respective obligations to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the filing of Central Withholding Agreements for artists and companies.
