National Network Meeting

CAPACOA convenes an annual meeting that gathers more than 20 presenting networks for two days of intensive dialogue. It focuses on identifying key priorities affecting networks at the national level, conversations with national funding agencies and policy makers, and helps to recognize common goals. Collective membership represented at this meeting is over 2000 arts organizations.

The goals of the National Network Meeting include:

  • Research / development
  • Training needs identification
  • Skills development
  • Development of communication strategies with national partners and funders
  • Development of key messages and consensus building around top priorities facing the sector
  • Collaboration and consultation on projects of national importance
  • Strengthening the Canadian presenting field

 

Future / Past Meetings

  • The 2014 National Network Meeting will take place in Toronto, on May 7, after a learning retreat on business model innovation.
  • The 2013 National Network Meeting took place in Ottawa, on May 1 and 2, in conjunction with the National Arts Centre's Northern Scene.
  • The 2012 National Network Meeting took place in Ottawa, on June 11 and 12, in conjunction with the Canada Dance Festival.
  • The 2011 National Network Meeting took place in Ottawa, on May 3 and 4, in conjunction with the National Arts Centre's Prairie Scene.
  • The 2010 National Network Meeting took place in Ottawa, on June 8 and 9, in conjunction with the Canada Dance Festival.
