From April 26th to May 8th, 2011, the National Arts Centre will present Prairie Scene, the fifth in a series of national Scene festivals celebrating and showcasing our country’s finest established and emerging artists. Prairie Scene will include more than 500 Saskatchewan and Manitoba artists from across all artistic disciplines in venues, galleries, museums and restaurants throughout the national capital region.
Prairie Scene scene will also be host to CAPACOA’s The Succession Plan mentorship program. Five emerging presenters will participate in the program, from May 5th to May 8th. They will also be integrated in the Prairie Scene Presenters Program, which brings in 70 domestic and international presenters to the festival to create new performance opportunities for Prairie artists.
The Succession Plan Program at the Prairie Scene provides:
- One-on-one mentorship with participants of the Presenters Program;
- Opportunities to meet with peers to discuss the new realities of working in the arts;
- Access to the exceptional performances throughout the weekend and other Presenters Program activities.
